When the Sun Shines make Wine

Yealands is built on a legacy of sustainability. It's core to their values of everything they stand for and what they do and how it's done.

So installing the country’s largest solar panel on the roof of their vineyard was a bold statement of intent. A chance for New Zealanders and International customers to discover the Yealands sustainability story through a revolutionary interactive website of real-time data and statistics. Clearly laying out the benefits of this environmental approach to the Yealands wine making process and beyond.

In tandem with Satellite it was this revolutionary approach to online data sharing with users that was recognised with Yealands collecting an Honoree 2017 Webby Award.

Harnessing Solar with Satellite

We saw this is a golden opportunity to work closely with Yealands and deliver an engaging platform for wine lovers to get behind the scenes and find out what factors a pioneering, sustainable grower takes into consideration to produce one of New Zealand’s top wines.

From touchscreens onsite at launch - that guests could navigate through the solar interface with, to an up-to-the minute website, detailing current weather conditions, live atmospheric data and timelines of Yealands solar orbit.

Live in the Vineyard

The simplistic to navigate, and visually appealing Yealands Energy website continues to be a success for the Yealands brand, providing an insight into wine growing and production from an online perspective not seen before in New Zealand.

Plus at the same time educating and enlightening users on the beneficial effects of sustainable practices in the wine industry using solar. Satellite was immensely proud to have taken a leading role in making this very Kiwi portal a reality.
