NZ Fashion Week: Kahuria 2023
New Zealand Fashion Week: Kahuria is Aotearoa’s only international fashion event, which takes place in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
Each year, during the week-long event, New Zealand fashion designers show their collections on the global stage through runway shows, events, public activations, digital presentations and exhibitions.
Satellite was engaged by New Zealand Fashion Week to help deliver a state-of-the-art event. Our involvement spanned design, development and activation services and involved coordinating with NZFW organisers, a diverse array of designers, buyers, media, VIPs, crew and volunteers; all coming together to bring the event to life.
The event platform was configured in Satellite’s live events platform Tag. The platform streamlines the intricacies of event management into a single, easy-to-use tool.
Through Tag NZFW was able to manage the many work-streams of their event, including delegate and VIP registration, public ticketing, designer portals, partner portals, seating allocation, email communications, mobile companion, digital goody bags, on-site accreditation and access control.
NZFW: Kahuria were able to invite their VIPs and important guests from all over the world via a registration site. These delegates were then reviewed and modified in Tag.
Tag provided the public ticketing site to all NZFW: Kahura shows throughout the week. Products included tiers of ticket products like Gold, Premium, GA and Student with support for promo codes for discounted ticketing. The options also included custom sites for partners and special ticket pricing.
All NZFW: Kahuria partners had their own portal in Tag where they could view their tickets to various shows, plus personalise and email invitations with tickets to their guests.
All designers were able to allocate seats to their guests and NZFW delegates in their portal. We developed an easy-to-use seating allocator to add, remove and move around guests to their shows. Seating was communicated to delegates and guests via their mobisite where they accessed their digital ticket.
Satellite provided Tag's mobile companion module for the event. This included an event schedule, designer bios, plus all the helpful 'how to' event info. The mobile companion was personalised for the delegates and guests and they could access their digital ticket to shows for scanning at the event.
Satellite were responsible for all email and SMS communications to send tickets and the mobisite to guests and GA ticket purchasers. Marketing eDMs were sent in the lead up to the event.
Digital goody bag
A digital first for NZFW: Kahuria, to help deliver on their sustainability initiative for 2023, we curated a digital goody bag for guests. They could pick up their goody bag on the mobisite, redeemable at partner activations at the event, via partner websites using promo codes or dissolvable coupons redeemable in store.
NZFW: Kahuria could login to Tag to get visibility on ticket sales data and inventory reporting, plus seating allocation progress for shows. This insight helped in show planning and marketing direction and focus.
Satellite was responsible for on-site accreditation for all crew to NZFW: Kahuria. This included construction and pack-in crew pre-event, volunteers and production crew during the event such as models, designers and hair and make-up.
In addition to this, there were media passes, VIPs, backstage and partners to manage, to ensure all key stakeholders had a personalised experience. Satellite was responsible for lanyards and passes, plus managing the registration kiosk at the event.
Satellite's event and activation team was responsible for all access control on-site. This included scanning multiple types of tickets on entry across guests. Satellite worked with NZFW: Kahuria 2023 security and usher teams to deliver a seamless on-site experience, ensuring attendees on-site had the access they needed, and most importantly, didn't get access to areas they shouldn't, such as backstage and on days they were not accredited to attend.
