NZ Pavilion - Expo Dubai
In March 2020 Satellite was commissioned by NZTE to design and produce a digital companion for the New Zealand Pavilion at the Dubai World Expo.
The experience would need to:
- Provide an inclusive and engaging experience
- Allow people to explore in more depth the stories behind the pavilion
- Demonstrate New Zealand innovation whilst being easy to use for all
- Create an experience that links to the New Zealand Restaurant on site
- Generate leads and data on visitation to NZTE
Satellite produced a mobile companion website that provided an elegant experience for visitors to the pavilion as well as a rich source of visitor data for the organisers.
With the Expo delayed by a year due to the pandemic, on Oct 1st 2021 as visitors were finally able to get access to the New Zealand Pavilion, they were greeted with signage displaying a QR code inviting them to access the mobile companion Satellite had preprared.
The mobile companion provided a rich source of information about the New Zealand Pavilion for visitors, showcasing the creators of the pavilion, the artifacts within as well as the accompanying narrative.
Useful links including reservations for the New Zealand Pavilion’s restaurant, Tiaki, where visitors to Expo 2020 Dubai could dine on NZ's quality food and beverage, as well as all the NZ Pavilion social media links were also provided.
A New Zealand themed quiz completed both before entrance and after exiting provided a benchmark for how much New Zealand knowledge was acquired on site. Beautifully designed, elegantly built and delivering real value, the mobile companion was a key part of the New Zealand experience at the World Expo 2020.
Business, tourism and educational calls to action provided solid leads and the reporting available in the administration delivered accountable ROI to NZTE.
